The Beginning of Acts
In the summer of 2009 God put on our heart to go into Pasadena, where no one else would go, to bring hope to this broken city. We began our work on the streets, taking the Gospel to the people. As we demonstrated the heart of Jesus in reaching the lost and saw many surrender their hearts to the Lord, we quickly realized the need to provide a place to disciple the people we were reaching - thus the church was born.
Today, Acts Community Church reaches out to all people in the Southeast-Houston area. Many churches are leaving this city and that is exactly where our heart is, to go after those no one wants. Our heart beats for seeing racial reconciliation take place, helping the fatherless, and human trafficking come to and end to name a few. The goal since the beginning is to win the heart of our city back. We officially planted on October 31, 2010 with only six individuals dedicated to reaching the community and quickly grew to a diverse family both multicultural and multigenerational. By God’s grace we have seen many come to Jesus and be discipled, marriages and families healed and restored, the fatherless belonging to a family, and so much more.
Against all odds, we had a building, along with land, given to us freely by God. This is in and of itself a miracle and will allow us to further His kingdom in a plethora of ways. Acts Community Church is committed to seeing people reached for Jesus as our community is restored and rebuilt.
